World Humanitarian Day on 19 August honors humanitarian aid workers all over the world. World Humanitarian Day was celebrated for the first time on 19 August 2009. In subsequent years the focus has shifted to a particular topic. In 2010, the focus was on the actual work and achievements of humanitarian workers in the field, with the theme “We are humanitarian workers”.
